What a bore of a race. I hope to see Bagger Vance well into his 6 year old season.

It really is not a great way to get the meet going. I hope the Jim Dandy isn't a 5 horse field.

Do you think any 2yr old will scare the true competors off? I think is more of a managing the 2yr olds to not hinder there progression and to keep them sound. Like it or not the conections are all pointing to the 1st sat in may and now is the time they start laying the ground work. After they show the ability Graded earning get into the picture. More are ruined by jumping the gun too early than a careful approach.

This one probably did. I don't like horses running this year but The Sanford was won by Afleet Alex and he turned out ok.

Im not saying this isnt a very nice colt. I dont think AA scared any of the promising babies away either. This is a nice race to win but this is only a step to the goal at Churchill next year.

I disagree about this "only being a step to the goal at Churchill next year." They run a BC race for 2yo and give out an eclipse award to a 2yo for a reason. I don't see why some people insist on acting like 2yo races are not real races, and are nothing more than glorified practices aimed at next year's triple crown trail.
As I said in the insanely long Circular Quay thread, the juvenile division is its own eclipse division and should be appreciated on its own terms.

Speaking of Circular Quay, does anyone know what is next for him? I thought he was pointing to this race. And listen, I don't want to have the whole Circular Quay debate again so people can save their "who cares" or "he wouldn't win anyway" answers. I know that some people don't like him or think he is overhyped or whatever. That's fine. I like him and would like to know what is going on with him.

You are right. As I stated in a previous thread, the 2yr old BC should be the only GR1 2yrold race

He is avoiding the better horses in the barn. Right now he isn't fast enough to compete with the top Pletcher horses. As they go longer though he should close the gap.
