Default Papi Chullo - SD handicapp -del mar

the horse is off for 1 year, changes trainers and runs 7.5f at hollywood his first back for his new trainer,B. Vargas in 127.55

a negative zero.

don't know a lot about vargas,

do you think his effort 20 days ago can be repeated here,
on saturday ??

That is a good question. My guess would be no. Coming off such a long layoff and racking up a big -0 first out I'd guess maybe a 2 for this one. I suspect his -0 would be a career high and it would be vary hard to pair up coming off the long layoff.

He is by western NY sire Comeonmom.

that sounds about right i guess and this one is 1f longer, he may slow in that extra distance...

a couple of very nice stakes coming up there on the left coast. i like Papi Chullo but maybe they should have saved his first back for the SD H.

I thought as they came into the stretch that Papi had come in on the horses inside and squeezed them for room. The fact that those horses were backing up at the time makes no difference, according to the rules, as I understand them, but it still has to hurt.

yeah Arroyo said PC was lugging in so i guess it was the right call. still a bummer for PC.
