Default 2/28: Aqueduct ($157k C/O)

Wednesday carry card proved out as tough as it looked with track giving it up readily to frontrunners for the better part of the day.. Inner appeared to relent somewhat late in the day as stalkers began to reach leaders, but those hoping to close at all had no chance. Aside from 3-2 Precious Too in the 5th, lone saver of afternoon came with $12.00 Vain Vixen in the 6th as Garcia took advantage of the bias and built an insurmountable lead.

$157,000 pot may be equally unattainable Thursday with 4 maiden claiming events part of the festivities, two of which are as dreadful as can be assembled.. But let's take a swing!

Look at Steve throwing in Just Le Facts in the 5th who was eased two back and "broke down" last time. It is undeniable that the horse has speed and he showed it multiple times over the summer. What the hell has happened since then is beyond me but with the completely hapless Jose Bermudez in the saddle this guy is fighting an uphill battle.

Good luck!

Nick,

One of my favorite angles is 'eased' or 'vanned off'... Vanning is so frequently done as a precaution, and easings or pull-ups by anxious riders who think they 'heard something'... If the horse breezes back and has shown ability against the company they're in, I regularly pull the trigger and it's been profitable.

The horse in question has undeniable speed, and if sound, can pop this group on a track that is obviously kind up front. Totally precautionary posture in a tough race to figure out...

Damn Steve, Didn't realize til just now how close you were to hitting the pic 6 also- crazy game sometimes. Now that I've had a bottle of wine I figured I'd thank you again for everything-and to get a mention on your show while listening to the last leg was a real treat for me and my family. Can't say enough good things about this site and ATR. This last year has been a great learning experience. I never thought there would be a day when I hit a 800.00+ pic 4 and forgot that I even played it! It kind of got lost in the excitement of the day. Your the best! Happy to be a small part of Dee Tee Stables-The best is yet to come!

p.s. the "vanned off" angle, learn something evey day on DT
