Default Barbaro's Grooms

I think most people have said nice things about Richardson, the Jacksons, Prado, Matz and Brette, but two very important people should also be thanked. They are Eduardo Hernandez and Rafael Orozco who have been there for Barbaro. If you get a chance, you can thank them here and a copy of the thread will find its way to them. The grooms are often forgotten, but they are usually the most important people in a horses life.

I know how you grow to love a horse that you care for hands-on, it's a special bond that most folks never understand, let alone experience. These are tough times and we know the outcome is uncertain but Barbaro has proven himself a champion, and champions, to quote the lyrics of a popular Queen song, "go on fighting till the end!" Barbaro is in all our hearts as he's become more than just a horse, he represents the bravery and fighting spirit of America...those of you behind the scenes should never be overlooked...thank you for all you've done in the past and all I know you'll do in the future...blessed be!

Eduardo Hernandez and Rafael Orozco, over and over the articles on Barbaro have said what a model patient he is-- and I truly think so much of that is due to both of you. He really seems to understand that the humans around him are trying to do what's best for him, and I think that's because he's learned that from both of you. You clearly have treated him with love and care and respect and I think now, that love and trust and respect he expects to receive from humans is what has gotten him this far. Thank you.

I second that gentlemen. Thank you very much for your part in this wonderful horse!

what a thoughtful thing to do Ruler (having worked as a grooom I know that they are usually forgotten).
Please thank these gentlemen for everything they have done for this horse and any other in their care. Without the skills and dedication of people like them there would be no horses for us to follow and fall in love with. Thank you. Bethani in VT

To Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Orozco: Thanks so much. Barbaro means a lot to people on this board, to all fans of the sport, and to a lot of other people all around the country. Your work is greatly appreciated.

To Bold Ruler: Thanks for such a great idea. Very thoughtful.
