The Wolfson name is and has been all over Jacksonville (the old baseball stadium was "Wolfson Park"), but not being a native, I never knew why until just now.

Marty Wolfson tonight at 4:30 on "ATR" to remember his dad.. A rare individual who was truly larger-than-life...

Great, nice, immortal, larger-than-life. He was all that.

He was also convicted on securities violations and did 9 months. While that case was winding it's way up through the judicial system, a foundation of Wolfson's put Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortis on a $20,000-a-year retainer for life. Abe resigned.

A conviction he fought to overturn the rest of his life. The government went after Wolfson with a prosecutorial zeal that wasn't commensurate with the offense. In fact, while Wolfson did sell unregistered shares, he filed the sale with the SEC. That 'crime' typically was handled with fines. There was more to that case then meets the eye.

Cardus, what a lovely remembrance. Isn't it interesting how one person's life can briefly touch anothers, and leave such a lasting impression?

Sometimes. Then I think about those kids that stayed with Michael Jackson and all that romanticism goes out the window.
