Pat V is up in the Bay Area today, and for now with one mount on the card.

El Gato Malo, the favorite in the 8th race "Gold Rush Stakes."

I've written before, but it always gives me pause when a rider visits for just the one big race on the card. I'm a little more comfortable if the jockey has had at least one race over the surface before the main race of the day.

I would play against that horse today because that surface so unpredictable, the jocks haven't figured it out yet and you know PVal is going to the lead, which hasn't held there yet
