Default Barbaro Stakes?

The 10th race at Delaware Park this Sunday features King of the Roxy and Xchanger, and is named the Barbaro Stakes.
Am I missing something?
Maybe I have completely lost it, but didn't Chelokee win a race named the Barbaro Stakes at Pimlico earlier this year?
Isn't it a bit odd (and confusing) to have two different stakes races with the same name?

This use to be the Leonard Richard Stakes and I think they annouced the change to the Barbaro Stks before Pimilico changed the Sir Barton to the Barbaro Stks. I think it fine they have two stakes at different tracks named Barbaro Stakes, plus he broke is maiden at Delaware Park

They should call one of them the Orabrab stakes so we know the difference when you look at pedigrees.

Or Pimilco could find a really good horse that deserves to have a race named after him but doesn't, and change the name of their race to that.
Someone like..........oh I don't know...........maybe........Sir Barton?

Seriously, I've got nothing against Barbaro, but to take the race name away from Sir Barton to name it after Barbaro is borderline insane.

Birdstone won more G1s than Barbaro did. And it isn't like they changed one from Sir Barton to Birdstone. They changed one from Sir Barton to Barbaro when there was already one being changed to Barbaro at another track. And even worse they changed it to Barbaro at the track of his worst moment.

I know that but what I was saying is they named a race after Birdstone but took away the one named for Sir Barton.

The sad thing is, had Barbaro won the Preakness by a record margin and won every race in his career from that point on, they probably still would never have named a race for him at Pimlico. It's like they feel obligated to do it because he broke down there. Had they created a race it'd be one thing, to take it away from Sir Barton was just wrong. The Delaware Park race is much more appropriate and a fitting tribute.

I hear that Sir Barton is so upset by this, that his connections are going to sue everyone and anyone responsible.

For the record though Sir Barton didn't really win the Triple Crown. He won three prestigious races that 15 years later were given the name the Triple Crown. It would be like someone winning the Champagne, Belmont, and Travers in 15 years and the media declaring it the New York Trifecta of Awesomeness and then claiming that Birdstone had won it.

I can't get past a possible 8-1 on Like Now in the 7th, the Carpenter Stakes. A contentious filed so I'll try no exotics

I'll take Mooncatcher in the Oaks.

Yeah, try winning the Champagne, Belmont and Travers in a 5 week stretch.

Why is there no Race for FERDINAND?????? This horse was slaughtered inhumanely in Japan and he gets race after him in the United States. At least Barbaro was put to rest in a humane manner.

Ferdinand - The winner of 5 Grade 1 races including the Ky Derby and the BC Classic.

i think they should name a race after mcdonalds.

speaking of which, they should make it mandatory for all jocks to have at least 100 hours of riding experience on those mechanical horsies they used to have in front of those places.

maybe david flores could learn some race riding strategies on that machine!
