Default My Derby all in bet

F-it! I hit a 200 dolla exacta today, so I'm uncorking in the Derby. Singling Street Sense 1-2. over a whole sh1tload on top and bottom. Street Sense runs 1st or second, and it's on!

My problem with Street Sense is the regression in the speed figs, see 108, then 102 then 93. Especially the 93 on poly at Kee

He didn't dig the poly. If he gets a decent trip, he will be there. You can't always take the "figs" to the bank"

Oh, Had a 1,2,5,7 box in the 6th. Threw out all my "figs" I had and took some value. Just saw a good race from 7 in the slop. Actually liked him to win. Kinda kicking myself for that.

Only ticket I cashed though. Still came out ahead, so all good. Didn't bet much after that, of course besides the Derby. Cost me 160 for the bet, but F-it!

I'm not sure that's a legitimate concern. The huge figure in the BC Juvy likely was aided by the golden trip on the golden rail, the 102 is fine for a comeback, the 93 should be totally disregarded on behalf of the polytrack, and Nafzger should have him plenty ready for his best, whatever that may be.

7-6/8/14/16/18 exacta key is the ticket!

[quote=DaHoss9698]I see what you are saying, but I am looking at it a different way. First the Bluegrass was suck a kooky race, it was very difficult to make the figure for it. It was almost a throwout for me. He obviously ran about as good as he could in the Juvy last year, running that 108. His comeback was very good in terms of the figure 102, so I am hoping Nafzger can get him to peak again when it counts. His last 2 works have been spectacular and Nafzger is a very good horseman. He's ready.[/QUOT
So...is he your pick?

i had it too, i played 2-6-7 boxed.
i played the horses that had run in the mud or wet turf before. played that way all day. worked pretty well except for the 10th race.

Default Derby Day thoughts

I'm not sure how to negotiate this forum. I suppose it doesn't matter at this point. The Derby is tomorrow.
My top picks:
1-Any Given Saturday, a hard knocker who is always there, poor post is only drawback
2-Street Sense, a proven Champ
3-Scat Daddy, beat others decisively in Fla.

I looked over the card from the 6th on, as I have commitments in the morning. What a great card! Wish I could be there all day.

So for now, just my picks from the 6th-11th:
6th 1,5,4
7th 1,5,4
8th 8,1
9th 6/8,2/9
10)18 7 4
11) 1/6.5

Didn't look at the last. I might mention that Bettie horse looks great & could be price. I like Einstein too.

I don't see Street Sense out of the exacta. I'll just be real disappointed if Curlin wins this thing. As I've said before, I'm playing a street sense - CQ exacta box. Good Luck.

Nobiz, SS, GH, CQ and Curlin in some combination.

102 first off the layoff, the 93 race is Keeneland, which in my book, is a toss out...horse coming in third off the layoff, sharp recent works, wins on the track...you have no cause for concern

I'm personally LOVING the way Hard Spun is flying under the radar- as good as any of the top 5 and this race is usually a crap shoot of position - using HS, CQ, SS, AGS, Dominican, and Cowtown cat in a tri box
