Default 5/2/07 Backside Notes

Well I got to see every Derby contendar with the exception of No Biz. To make this real short - Scat Daddy is out for me. The horse didnt look comfy at all. I really think there is more to his bar shoes than what we all know. AGS looked great, Great Hunter looked great. I didnt like Stormello at all. He only jogged again today like he did yesterday. But he just doesnt seem to be relishing the track. Quay looks great. After seeing him, fitness should not be a question. My only question is how close he will be or how far back he will be. Zanjero looked surprisingly good as well. He seemed to move over the surface well and likes his surroundings.

What do you mean he didn't look 'comfy?'

Cajun,

This is eurobounce/Kycherub, he has no idea what he's talking about, see what Welsch from DRF says, that guy's good, not some amateur.

Yep it is me, Eurobounce the one who gave out Lemons Forever last year in the Oaks.

Well... I'll listen to an extent, but I also recall you disliking SNS last year as well. I thought that Saint ran a nice race in the Derby... too bad he had a horrible trip.

What did your pyschic say? I am dying to know! LOL

I liked SNS until I saw his work and saw him afterwards. He was one dead tired horse after his work last year. I am going to the party at 10pm. I will let you know when I get back around 11:30 or so.

Please explain in more detail what you did not like about Scat Daddy? Not comfy as in what sense.

Thanks

Scat Daddy seemed nervous to me. He actually got a little heated up when he went onto the track. When he jogged over the track, his steps seem to be a little choppy. Of course he did have those bell things on so that could have attributed to it a bit. But he didnt look nearly as good as AGS, Quay and Sam P.

Being nervous on the track is not uncommon for a horse. New surrondings will do that. Funny Cide was a high strung horse that was also nervous on the track in his workouts. The forecast was "muggy" today at Churchill which would explain the heated up look on the track? Scat Daddy is fine and sitting on a "HUGE" race but thanks for the info!

Scat Daddy will be pulling the old Spanish Chestnut head-turn at about the 1/8th pole when he decides he has had enough for the day.

But up until then, I'm sure he will run a HUGE race.

I just wonder how many people will come back to eat their crow on here after the Derby.

Maybe there should be a "CROW EATING" thread posted 1 min after the Derby finishes.
