Are we talking tosses from the win spot or total tosses? If it's the latter, I think anyone that tosses Circular Quay totally is nutso.

I won't completely toss Street Sense but I will be using him probably in only the 3rd slot in tris. I question his readiness after 1 legit prep and one 3 furlong public work. Great Hunter is a definite toss as well, as are the ten or so horses who have no business running in the race.

I think the part-owner/trainer of Xchanger is looking for someone to buy the poor guy and throw him to the wolves. Aside from that, I doubt he'll be in the Derby. He got killed down in Oaklawn this spring.

As for my tosses:

Teufelsburger
Sedgefield
Cobalt Blue
Liquidity

To start.

is it possible to toss a horse from the bottom of exotics but not the top? I am thinking of a front runner e.g. Hard Spun, I can see him wiring the field under the right conditions but I dont see him coming in second if he gets run down in the stretch. Is this a sensible way to think or totally nuts?

As far as horses to toss.....Stormello,Liquidity,Cowtown Cat, the horse who won the Lexington, hard spun. Am tossing them.

As far as people on this board who are tosses......Morty is an automatic toss this time every year. But I do value his opinion on The Ohio Derby. I will have to get on his good side by the beginning of June so I can get his opinion.

I think if I had to bet today, Scat Daddy, Hard Spun, or Street Sense is your winner.

I am just so anti-Scat Daddy. . . I just think he's a cut below, isn't that fast, and may have trouble at the distance. . . Every time I've bet against him he's won so maybe I'm just way off. . .

I'd add Street Sense to that list, but pretty much agree.

To be honest, pre-draw and all, each horse this year is so evenly matched it's hard to toss most of them. I'll probably bet based on price alone... I do not like Nobiz though.

According to DRF, Slew's Tizzy is unlikely to run:

"The horse is doing great, but unless something radically changes in the next day or two, we have pretty much decided against running," Fox, a licensed veterinarian, said from his farm adjacent to the Thoroughbred Training Center in Lexington, Ky. "We expect to make a firm decision by Friday."
