Default Derby, The Works, HRTV....

I was reading the story on Bloodhorse about the works that the Pletcher gang put in over the Keeneland track today.

Got me thinking about TVG and "The Works" show.

I have TVG, I like some of the personalities but the best part of the network to me (besides those quarter horse Pick-4 tickets of course from Los Al) was the Works.

Re-watching those the night before the Derby last year convinced me that Barbaro was my horse. It was a great handicapping tool.

Now this year, it appears those of us without HRTV are screwed.

Any ideas or options? Thanks in advance for the help.

HRTV is advertising that "Target Louisville" will be coming "live from Churchill Downs April 28th - May 5th".

I wonder if that means they will be recapping the daily workouts.

Hope so.

Yeah, I grasp the whole idea of the Target Louisville thing.

But I'm not familiar with HRTV...is there any online only access for them? Can you get any of their content online?

Comcast only provides TVG here, no HRTV. Didn't know if there were others stuck without it who might have an idea of backup plans for catching the workouts.

I think TVG will at least be providing you with the contenders working at Keeneland (which is most of them I believe).

Personally I hate HRTV...unfortunately they had the best tracks all winter.

Where did you find that ugly old school canucks uniform.

HRTV is the worst, the graphics are bad, the personalities are bad, etc... Im disappointed TVG has lost out on CHD, and almost all the tracks I like. Im lucky, I live in Louisville and Insight carries both networks. I wish TVG had the content and tracks HRTV has, they make a much better presentation.

What they need to do is combine all of them(HRTV/TVG) and combine all the AWD's (Bris/Xpress/Youbet/TVG), have two channels, one for yapping and the other that is split 4 screen with four feeds running, give you the opportunity to watch either of them. And get all tracks at your fingertips, a novel idea

That's a good idea. I'd love there to be one channel to carry all tracks, but in the summer, it would be nearly impossible to show all the races with the amount of banter, analysic and losing pick 4 tickets they post.

I own it.

it is a 1981-1982 Per-Olav Brasar Canucks home jersey.

my other hobby......

Oh an i agree most of the content is switching to HRTV yet TVG has a much better product.....won't be for long as you need content to have a good product. I have been hoping that HR will improve their personalities and such but i am not holding my breath.

I don't understand all this love for TVG; they constantly talk and tout. Most of them are lousy handicappers and the entire show is 'in your face" They even ruin the mornings; instead of showing replays from tracks like Kee or Aqu, they show jump racing from Ireland and the UK......who's idiotic idea was that?

I miss the replay shows. Easier than watching on the PC. Now we get the 5 min. turf races from the U.K.

I recorded The Works before the Blue Grass. I agree it is their best produced and informative program. Everything else and the personalities are a matter of choice.

HRTV and the Target Louisville show will have to step up big time to get close to the coverage you expect.
