Default Magnificience!!!

This first time starter just won in a powerful performance in the first race at Santa Anita. She broke poorly, seemed to fight the rider a bit in the beginning and dropped way back at least 12 or more lengths off the pace.

She closed strongly circling the field and won by at least 5 lengths, galloping strongly. She could not have looked more impressive stopping the clock at 1:15.6 for 6.5 furlongs.

watch the replay.

The great part was hearing the interview with Solis after the race on HRTV. Seems this one regularly beats Silver Swallow in workouts in the morning by 5 to 10 lengths. (Silver Swallow is Headley's entry in the Grade 1 race later in the day.) They knew what they had in Magnificience...why do you only find these things out AFTER the race????

holy cow, that was insane.

reminds me of halfbridleds debut, sorta. and you were right, she was fighting the jock. she looked like she was throwing her head around pretty badly after that awful start.

i hear her workouts were nuts too. 33, 57, 109, etc.
