Default Great Hunter

I have liked this horse since his victory over CQ and Street Sense last fall (although I was foolish enough to try to beat him off the layoff with Baffert's colt today).
I see that he won, but I have not seen the race. How did he look?

he looked nice, he was wide a lot of the way and made a big move on the turn before pulling away.

considering a layoff and that he obviously wasent cranked he looked very good, his pedigree really screams out more distance, i think hes a definite strong derby contender

I tried to beat him too...but he's been on the top of my watch list for a while now. I missed the race as well...

Regarding layoffs, this game has become a layoff game, you just can't 'toss' horses anymore the way you used to be able to because trainers don't race them into shape anymore. I do the same thing all the time. "Oh, this horse can't win off that long of a layoff" and boom, wins by 4

Great Hunter beats Stormello
Stormello beats NoBiz

Conclusion? Nobiz is better than Great Hunter.

Come on Jim, just because he lost, doesn't mean he stopped being unbeatable.

Have either of you heard about the futility of beating a dead horse?

I thought Bob Lewis was great for the game....But why do we have to change the name of these races for people all the time. I'd much rather see races named after horses. Why do we forget what runs this game, the horses. Not the people.

I agree, leave the damn names alone. Thats how you develop tradition.
Nothing against Bob Lewis.

I'm not quitting, but I'll definitely lose my lunch.
