Do you think I care if you bet that ticket? (Not Really) I like to get input and criticism about my choices, but the manner in which you comment and some others do is just unfair to the newer people on this site. It's obvious that you all on here have your buddies and established relationships, but "come on". How do you ever expect newcomers to become comfortable when you rag on them for every mistake?

I post my selections and my opinions for the people who do want to help me become a better handicapper. There is no reason to make some of the comments people do on this blog.

Like I said back then, I still hit the Pick 3. I left the horse out in the Pick 4 because I didn't have my sheets in front of me and forgot that number in that leg. It was an honest mistake and it has only happened that "one" time. Check back on everything else.

What is wrong with 6-1??
Dan, That is a very poor attitude to take there. You talk about newcomers looking at and posting selections. What if there was a newbie or even a regular that decide to piggy back your play? They are dead and all of a sudden you post (probably a legitimate mistake) that you just forgot a horse in a prior leg and still alive in the play. Not to mention that it was one of (maybe even your) first posts. It's a creditability thing. You are aggressively pushing your blog (nothing wrong with that) and then adding horses to pick 4's after the race. Like Kev said, you should have just silently cashed that ticket. It was a little over the top in your first day.
As far as the ragging goes, you brought a little on yourself with some of your little comments. You hit an exacta at Woodbine, then you state if you picked the 3rd horse that you didn't tout you would have had the tri. A horse that you picked paid 26 bucks (great) but if you had the 2nd choice (another you didn't tout) you would have had a big exacta. You want to post picks, that's fine and welcomed. You want to give analysis that's fine too. But don't try to hook up payoffs to horses that you didn't pick/play and say that if you did play it you would have hit the race. That's just not right. No one expects you to pick winners every race. One other thing, what's with the $84 dollar tri ticket on a 5k claimer at the Mountain. Come on! Just turn it down just a notch and you will be fine. Everyone one loves input around here, you just happened to get off on the wrong foot.

I have made more money betting Mcl5k races at Mountaineer than some races with great horses.

Again, I want to reiterate this to all of you. I am not the most experienced handicapper on this blog and I'm not even close to that, but I get a lot of inciteful comments from people on how to improve what I do. I do appreciate the fact that you think betting $84 on trifecta's at Mountaineer is too much. That is more helpful than making a mockery of my first post on the selections portion of this site. I will quietly cash my tickets as I usually do from now on. I just think the manner in which some of the comments I receive on this site are inappropriate for what I have contributed. All, I post is my picks. I hope you visit my blog, but it's not the reason I joined this site. I joined because I love to talk horses and the person who referred me, told me that most of the people who contribute to the forum's know their horses and horse racing better than I do.

I hope that people can get over a small mistake and I will not take credit for that small ticket. It paid nothing anyways. I take more credit for the ones on my blog that require the tax man, but I make a living right now as a teller.

I enjoy input from all of you, but you all need to realize where I am coming from in this situation. Help me by criticizing my choices. Not by the way I post. I have things to learn and I will take your opinions to heart as well.

Best of luck!

Dan is recently graduated from U of MN, and has been employed at a harness track in MN as well. He is very eager to learn and reflect opinions with the many individuals here. Dan is trying to enhance his vocabulary and racing skills to garner a position as race caller and analyst for this Spring at Running Aces. Dan is just 22 where im 39 and my experiences in the game have been far greater, but this site would give him precious experience and a consistent environment to interact w/ people with the same interest. I have explained to Dan how to go about some things better, as have a few members that have sent him PM's. I'm not intentionally trying to stir things up with you, but rather intervene and explain things. You have to be thick skinned to throw things out there I know! And being opinionated or strong in your convictions can be humbling at times. Dan will grow and learn and become a valuable contributing member of this forum this much I promise you. Thanks- Greg

So you really didn't like all my ramblings about English Channel?

Dan, there are really so many knowledgable people around here. I have learned so much since I have been here. Just wait, I noticed that you mentioned Tampa on your blog. There is a group that lives for that meet, just watch and you will be amazed. As far as that initial pick 4. Posting picks around here is a very serious thing. First it takes balls to put your picks out there for everyone to see. Sometimes you will take some crap, like before when you posted those big tickets, hit the exacta and tri and still lost money. But when you do hit most of the time people will appreciate it and give you the credit that's deserved. It's tough enough when you are trying to cap cards and get bets in. Add in posting the picks and it complicates things a little more. That's why it's appreciated so much. Listen it didn't matter if you were here 1 day or 1000 days, anyone who would have added a horse to bring a dead ticket back to life would have taken some sort of crap. But like I said, keep posting. But more importantly pay attention and you will become a better handicapper. There are a lot of extremley talented people around here. There a little crazy but still extremley talented!

Dan,

Don't let these people get you down, keep on plugging away. Could you post Greyhound picks for Jacksonville?

I have always been interested in the hounds, but don't bet them a whole lot online. People have told me to chart them, but I can't find the time try.
