Oh hell yea, he CANride. That's why his questionable efforts on chalk stand out (like a sore thumb.) Most the horses he rides, he has in position to win. If he doesn't have the horse, then what can he do? Then he has some of these chalk horses hopelessly out of position from the start of the race, and it stands out.

Fact is, he has his eye on the oddsboard. He is simply a better rider on a 6/1-9/1 horse than he is on chalk. That leaves Bejarano and Gomez. There is no way I would trust Rosario to ride a horse who is chalk. There is a lot of money to be made at TOGA, but there are a lot of good riders there trying to get it.

i beg to differ, you have 1 good rider out there.... Bejarano (and Baze if you wanna count No Cal), and even he (Bejarano) came from back east. The only reason why Rosario Dawson is 2nd in the standings is b/c he competes against the Baze twins, John Court and Joe Talamo.

It will be interesting too see how much Gomez takes away from Bejarano's mounts at Del Mar, Frankel likes them both so.....

as for Rosario... i'd rather have Channing Hill and a coke any day of the week

The riding colony in Southern California is horse racing's version of the "Island of Misfit Toys."

I fail to see why it's important where Bejarano came from. I guess if you want to say where it'd be from it'd Peru. He and Gomez will be dividing up the best horses, and Rosario will keep bringing in the horses that other people can't bring in. Then, he will not be able to bring in horses Delgadillo can bring in. Un huh...Un huh...

my point is, that Gomez can race against tougher jocks and not be the first call guy on everything back east, where the jockey colony is deep. Or he can go to So Cal and compete with Bejarano for all the best mounts..... I guess in the end, my point is the left coast jockey colony is not that good and i can understand why he's headed back out there.

Then, he will not be able to bring in horses Delgadillo can bring in. and i i know what you mean about that one, i also had Rosario in that race last weekend as well

Does anyone seriously think he is leaving because he just aint making the money out east? This is strictly a family, comfort of living move. I am sure he can clear 10 million a year out east with or without pletcher having a great year, how is he doing so far this year with pletcher down?

For most of us "spring" does not start in Feb., but if Rillito is closing, that's too bad.

It was more the family part and living conditions....the number is a little ambitious.
