Believe me,it could easily happen again. If ya read some of the many threads these Turks start, you will see how they crave killing Greeks,Armenians etc. It's not like they are sorry that Turks killed all those Armenians. They constantly make videos glorifying their military. If you read the comments they have ,you'll see how they like to "conquer." They aren't ever talking about protecting. They always talk about "we conquered." Like this fine comment here:

"When Turks conquered India, Turkish general Alp the Horseman asked a Indian tavern keeper, "how can Turks defeat 100 000 indians with 15 000 Horsemen?"
Indian answered "Can rice Eaters stand against Turks who eat a full sheep in 1 time?"

My team sucks.......What a disgrace. Even if they come back and tie it up, they really don't deserve to win.

Congratulations to the Phillies.

Well,I am very surprised, because they seemed to be able to skid away from the Phillies whenever they got close in the standings, but not this last time.I don't know why you guys were losing. All I know is when the Dodgers played you, your shortstop and 3rd baseman destroyed us.I guess those 2 stopped doing that.Wouldn't have taken much to hold on comfortably..i.e. Padres..a HUGE amount of people thought the Mets were easily going to the World Series.Chucksta follows baseball fairly close, and thought they were easily best(I think.) I thought they and the DBACKS WOULD FIGHT IT OUT.Padres are the most mentally tough team(as far as making the post.)They are determined each year to make that post, and then they have no hitting at all when they get there. That shortstop(k green) is really coming around though. He may not choke in the post.

Worse yet brewers have chance to close the gap and lose 2 straight! Do baseball fans a favor cubs give up your spot to one of the losers in the other two races. You don't deserve to be in the playoffs! Besides every one knows when you lose, you'll blame it on the curse! Bartman! Please the happiest person in chicago was your shortstop who booted the next play for an easy double play. Also you still had to play game seven! So make baseball proud and forfeit your playoff spot to a team that deserves it!
Call me crazy, but didn't an 83 or 84 win Cardinal team take everyone out last year?? Or am I missing something.

Chuck yeah your right about the cardinals and I was hoping someone would bring that up. Playoffs are about whose hot and most important who has the best pitching. Unfortunately or not the best team doesn't always win it. I just think it would be a shame to not see the rockies in the playoffs or my phillies. Who now control their destiny, win two and the east is theirs. Unbelievable! I remember a few weeks ago the phillies were up 8 to 2 on atlanta and the bullpen gave up 7 runs. I though that was the dagger. But manuel and the players never surrendered. Jimmy Rollins is having an absolute great year and should be mentioned for mvp. He had the balls to tell the mets in spring training to watch for the phils. They backed it up and have beaten the mets 8 straight times. The rockies can still get in just beat arizona and have brew crew beat the padres just twice. Who knows who will win it but this time of the year is the best. If you ever get the chance go to the world series its unbelievable. I got to go to the twins-cards in 87 for 2,6 and 7. Its was crazy!

Last night at Citizen's Bank Park was the most surreal feeling I've had in recent memory. Awesome performance from the Phils. It serves Lo Duca and Beltran right, for every time they were questioned about thier inability to beat the Phils, they trumped the "Look at the standings" card. They got what they deserve, which was a total collapse. We pity the team that would have to face our lineup IF we make the postseason. GO PHILS!! and Hard Spun.

You see some of the crazy stuff Philly was doing on defense Saturday? Some of that reminded me of some pathetic lil league games....Pretty tight playing, and now they gotta rely on Moyer.I'll guess that they both win,and have to have another game.

This NL East race is by far the craziest thing I have ever seen in baseball. What were the odds of John Maine throwing a 14 strikeout no nitter through 7 2/3 on Saturday. It almost seems as though the momentum has shifted back in the Mets direction. The Phillies are a tough team and have hung around all year. The way the Mets have played recently is undeserving of winning the NL East.....but I still want them in the playoffs.

The Mets clearly have the best lineup in the NL (though Delgado has slipped considerably). They play pretty good d, they have lots of team speed, a passable starting rotation and good closer. But the bullpen was below par and Minaya stood pat at the deadline and that has cost them the division. Big part of the Yankees strong second half was the bullpen going from a liability to a strength. Though the whole team deserves the choke label for their collapse, the GM did not acquire the pitching help that they really needed. In fact you can make a case that in the near future the Mets starting rotation is not far from being totally finished. Glavine does not have much left, Pedro is about done, El Duque is erratic, Perez is wildly inconsistent as usual, the others are average at best. They need lots of help in the bullpen (losing Sanchez was a huge loss) and starting rotation. Personally I dont like Lo Duca very much and the corner outfield positions are really old. Minaya got all the credit when they were rolling, must share the blame when the most talented team in the league doesnt make the playoffs.

Why is it that most Scrubs fans want their OWN name on the back of a Cubs jersey?!?! It's retarded, and probably about the dumbest thing one can do at a MLB game is to wear a team's jersey with YOUR OWN name on the back of it. It's just a pet peeve of mine, and it's very prevalent in the Scrubs fanbase.
......they probably got it at a Garage Sale.

I guess you are forgetting that the Cards won the central in 2006 and went on to win the World Series. The Cards were 83-78. 12 teams had a better record and 5 of them didnt make the playoffs (I believe).
