Understand where your coming from, of course, but to compare a two turn 1/16 mile graded stakes on poly track at Keeneland to one turn 7and 1/2 furlong non graded stakes race on the dirt at Churchill makes no sense. Give us a better analogy, or are you saying that two weeks from the Derby is ok, but one week isn't?

but really, how many of the top horses who qualify earnings-wise aren't going due to reasons other than health? derby fever infects a lot of people. those who have been there, done that, and know the thrill of winning it all might even get it worse!
