Has this sport come to a point that we are wasting our time handicapping the horses and should just look for Value on Jockey's?

Mth 7

I think the 1 and 11 duel and there is other speed, looking for a shocker from the 6 who has some back races finishing and should get a good mid-pack trip.

$20W 6

I'll be honest. That was the main reason I put 7 on my doubles ticket. He has been hot.

Castellano is in a real zone right now, anything he rides is live.

That was a brutal beat, Jim. Castellano was the difference.

Ugh, the pain. I liked two bombs in the Mth 7th to come off the pace, the 6 and 10. I choose the 6.

All too often, figure horses are getting overbet to produce a true lack of value which only gets exaggerated when the jockey reacts poorly.

Let me share an example : take a look at Grand Rapport (8-5 morning line) in the seventh race at Saratoga. Absolutely no speed, breaking from that rail, and the doubles into this horse seem to peg him at 2-5 or 3-5. Now, the horse has the figures to win this race both on the Beyer's and speed numbers.

But ...

Looking at his running style, this horse is screaming to get bottled up inside looking for space in the stretch - and there are several in here that look to have the exact same running style.

To me, this is bad value.

A head bob that can go either way, but I have no doubt the 7 will get it since my money was on the 6.
