I am not sure what Stevens was doing that far back with the 4, but I will gladly take the 8 here at a nice 5-1. Still don't get why all that money was poured into the 6 here.

I would love to see California Chrome win this race for a lot of reasons, the biggest being the way he was campaigned. It would be nice for trainers to see that they can run their horses more often than every 5 to 6 weeks and a couple of times as a two year old and only a couple of times before the Derby.

From a betting perspective, I have to play against just due to history. We have all been here before in recent years and seen the results. No matter how we look at this race relative to his true chances to win he is a major underlay which makes everyone else in the field overlays. General a Rod is a crazy price right now.

I am leaning towards betting Tonalist to win at the price. However, I hope that Samraat takes the lead and gives CC a target to stalk behind and root for CC to get the job done!

I am sorry to see him lose, but he had every chance there.

Proves once again that you have to be a very superior horse to accomplish this feet and unfortunately California Chrome is not.

He definitely did not have that acceleration off the final tun that he's shown in the past. Congrats to the connections of Tonalist
