Houston got the short end of the schedule maker for this match up, but that was embarrassing. They didn't score for almost the first 7 minutes of the game.

The NBA is great right now. Regardless of who I like and who I think can win....
Superstars all over this league. I mean Miami beats Portland in Portland without Lebron. Anything can happen.
Golden St is going better. I kept saying 15 of 20. They are 7-3 last 10 w/ 5 wins in a row. They should win Tuesday vs Orlando. Then they play Miami. After Miami they have 6 winable games until they are at OKC. This could be the stretch they need.

Obviously it is a question mark, but if Westbrook is healthy and ready to go for the playoffs, meaning he has been playing a month at least, it is highly unlikely any team in the West is beating OKC this year. The only one I can see doing it is Portland, and that is if they are able to get home court while Westbrook is out.

Even then, my money would be on OKC. They are super deep, talented, and very good on both ends of the floor.

Are you really sold on Portland? Im not, not at all. They will be a 3 or 4 seed, maybe win a first round series and be out.

I watch way more NBA than I should. Portland is much better than you think. Most people have no idea how good their starting 5 is right now.

Here is my take on Portland, and I watch a ton of NBA.....

Aldridge is what he is. The difference is this year he is having a little better year. He cant be a title teams best player. No way. Every legit team has a good matchup against him IMO. Houston can throw Howard. Clippers can play Griffin. Golden St can throw Lee or Bogut. Your team can play Ibaka. Spurs Duncan. Miami Bosh and Indiana West. He is a matchup nightmare for no one.
Honestly, Im not sure he can even be the second best player on an NBA Championship team.

I dont like Lillard much. He is a 41% shooter. He is 6'3 and does not rebound much and he averages 2.5 turnovers a game. He really takes about as many bad shots as anyone.

Batum and Matthews are both nice players. They can play on almost every team, but no stars. Honestly this team feels a lot like the last few Denver teams. Gaudy regular season record and no threat at all in the playoffs. I mean you can argue they have a combined 1 star between Lillard and Aldridge.

You should audition for First Take.

Another thing... I know you dont love Houston. But Harden has been banged up. Same thing with Lin. Check out there schedule....
They have as many big, good wins as anyone. They have beat Portland. They have also beat San Antonio and Golden St 2x each.

Tough game coming up against your rested Thunder tomorrow, another back to back on the road for the Blazers. They better pick it up on the defensive end or it'll be looking like a three game losing streak real fast.

I'll be there...so far we always get a home game on New Year's Eve. I don't think the team has ever lost if memory serves, even in the 1st year when they were 3-29 going in.
