Will be a bittersweet one for us as my dad's younger brother died last month after years of ill health.
 He came up to Grantville during this past summer for a week with my aunt (his sister) and they went out to Penn National the first night he was there. He loved the racetrack, the Beatles and Scottie terriers. Not necessarily in that order. Cherish every moment with those you love. Safe travels and happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Thanksgiving holidays for me as a kid always involved the drive from Omaha to Minneapolis to spend it with my Dad's parents. My grandmother waited on me hand and foot for 3 days and my grandfather bitched about politicians and taxes. He couldn't believe that taxpayers were going to have to help fund the Metrodome. As a teenager, I would usually roll my eyes and chuckle when he would go on one of those rants.
Boy, did he have it right. The older I get, the wiser he actually was. Still have many things to be thankful for...........happy and healthy to all!!!
