...The Hombre hit out well in work.

“We’re all in a happy mood here,” said Bary. “It’s been a bit of a drought for the stable but things are looking up. The three stakeswinners are all coming up well and some young ones are showing promise.”

The Hombre is set to start fresh-up in the Listed $50,000 Counties Bowl (1100m) at Pukekohe on November 23.

Beautiful shot, ed!

Thanks! One of my favourite things about going down to Christchurch is how easy it is to get so close to the Guineas winners. I can get down there from my seat in one or two minutes. Ellerslie's just too huge to do that - especially when there's a big crowd for the major races.

Yeah, excellent performance. Hope he might get a well-deserved first G1 win some time over the summer.

Here's the 1000 Guineas field...

Odds:
Bounding 1.70
Miss Foxwood 5
Spellbinder 6
Costa Viva 6.50
Role Model 12
Miss Mossman 41
Silhouette Noire 60
Rachel Rafter 80

I know there are three other very good fillies in this race, and I know that saying this could make me look really dumb, but I really think the only question here is how far Bounding wins by. And I can't wait to see it.

Another really fun trip to Christchurch. I've loved it. But I can't figure out how I feel about that dramatic 1000 Guineas. Bounding unlucky? Or was Costa too good today? I'll have to watch the replay when I get home.

I just watched the replay and was wondering... what did the announcer mean when he implied that there had been some delay to the start?

Great race and wow what a nice (and surprising!) win!

Hope you had a lot of fun.

My pick was Spellbinder... love Bounding and she is fantastic but I would have played Spellbinder on top had I been there (or posted in time).

I hope you have a photo or two you don't mind sharing!

The delay was a bit scary! Bounding lashed out in her gate and got her leg stuck. They took a while to get her out of her gate, then the vet had to make sure she was OK to run.

No photos this time, unfortunately. It was a really hot day, and they were already taking Costa Viva away for a drink and a shower by the time I made it to the winners' circle.

The G2 Auckland Breeders' Stakes, which looks like being a really strong field - Final Touch, Lady Kipling, Diademe, Miss Pelear, Waterford. And the G2 Counties Cup, with More Than Sacred and a few other nice horses in it.

Also, today was a big day - the first stage of entries for this race: http://www.nzracing.co.nz/RaceInfo/4...-Overview.aspx

I've heard of maybe a quarter of those! Can't wait to meet the others over the next few weeks and months.

Some really nice fields and good luck to Pinzaara (!!!!!).

Ed... I am really confused...

Time Keeper as in THE Time Keeper... Easter H. winning Time Keeper... that one....(???)...

HE is running tomorrow (r7 Rangitikei R.C. @ Awapuni)?

Whoa, yes! I hadn't noticed.

Pinzaara ran so great. Really proud of her, as always.

Oh my God ed she was really so good today and that was a tough field. VERY nice run.

Pus$y Willow... I was surprised at that run.

Any word on Xquisit? A shame seeing her pull up.

Congrats to you. Hope your girl wins next time but wow, in the meantime 3rd to Queens Rose is pretty damned impressive!

I was looking at the race The Filly is in (r9) and noticed this...

Huh?

Sequin [ex Huffer](6m Pins (AUS) - Glitzy)

Why did they change her name? I like this one better but she'll always be Huffer to me!

Oh, it's changed again? She was named Sequin originally, but there was a radio promotion with temporary ownership, and that included changing her name. I guess that's over now!

Not sure about Xquisit. Hope she's ok. Bit worried - didn't look good.

Final Touch was so fabulous in the G2 Breeders S just now. Amazing mare.

She won? Oh yea I can't wait to see the replay.

Stupid moment of the night.... was confusing Ms. Willow with Ms. Pus$y O'Reilly. Duh!

Time Keepers trainer is listed as Floyd Mullineaux. I don't know this name. Should I?

Again fabulous 3rd by Pinzaara. I am just thrilled for you.

Never knew that about Huffer (although I had once seen a picture of her and what seemed like a thousand owners haha!)! Thanks for that!

Yeah I kind of wish I hadn't looked at the stewards report... I put her name in the angels thread.

Have not yet seen Annies replay but happy to see she won yesterday.

Ed, where is Mufhasa? Any news?

He's running in the G1 Captain Cook on December 7. That looks like being a superb field - Mufhasa, Final Touch, Survived, Shuka, Zennista, possibly Veyron, Lady Kipling...

Awful about Xquisit.
