Why train him back to the BC now retire him? Turf router in the breeding shed? Come on now. I have to guess he is sound because he ran well in the BC off the bench. Why not a campaign of the Gulfstream race he beat Animal Kingdom in then the Derby Day race, Manhattan, Arlington Million?? Why is he being rushed to the shed?

he's by dynaformer, who is no more. i have no doubt he will be in demand.
and they put him back in training to try to win the bc turf, because it would be a nice race to win.

Adena Springs bought into him to be a stallion. He is turning 6. Adena did a pretty good job with a turf router named El Prado.

Buy a mare with all the money you are making betting football and breed to him

Yeah, and let's not forget, he's the half-brother of Pine Island and is of the line of Maplejinksy, Gold Beauty, etc. Just being by Dynaformer and doing what he has would be enough to jump on making him a stallion at this point, but he's got the female family for it. After what happened to Pine Island you don't keep going back to the well too much after injury. Not to imply that family is made of glass, but you don't press your luck, esp. when you're trying to justify the expense of insurance, training, etc. up against what he's likely to add to his value. If they were to lose him, that'd be the top two offspring from that mare just gone and obviously no more Dynaformer to breed back to. It's not like his sons are at his level as stallions yet (if they ever will be). Adena's banking on him maybe being his father's successor and they want that gene combo in circulation. I don't get why they don't try to get another Arch filly from Matlacha Pass--well, I do, she's obviously a top broodmare and why not breed her to Bernardini, but it would nice to have a full to Pine Island.
