I'm trying to figure out what a "minor" shin injury could be for a 4 year old.

I'm always amused at how "minor" all the injuries are. As I said the only injury that an older horse's shin could have that would be relatively minor would be a cut of some sort which wouldn't necessitate shipping back to Florida to asses the situation.
