Congratulations to Dee Tee's Toy Cannon partner Paul Pompa, as well as easy-to-root-for Pat Reynolds, on the Victory Ride win with Baby J. Not sure how she won exactly, but delighted to see Paul & Pat in a Graded Stake win photo again.. first since Backseat Rhythm I'd guess.

Indeed, last graded stakes start together saw Backseat Rhythm win Lake Placid 8/15/08!

Pletcher must be saving them up for Saratoga because none of his stakes horses are running right now.

Actually, they won two graded Stakes together, with Backseat Rhythm, since the Lake Placid. They won the Grade 1 Garden City that September as well as the Grade 3 Hillsborough the following March at Tampa Bay Downs. She made three Graded Stakes starts in between those two, with a second and a third.

Nice.. She was terrific. Good at 2 on dirt and then better on the grass. She has a Big Brown 2yo filly that may be getting close..

She was one of my favorites....but nobody was on her before DrugS ( I refuse to call him Calzone Lord ). He loved her off her sales work but said she would need more ground.

What famous disappointment finished second to Backseat Rhythm in her maiden win ( and then won a Grade 1 in her subsequent start )?

I was a big fan of her too. She's how I met Paul Pompa. He introduced himself at Belmont and said 'I always hear you saying nice things about my filly'.

Had to look up PP's for runner up in maiden win... Country Star! And how about Mushka 3rd?
