Americans and I guess now illegals who have pre-existing conditions due to their own behavior should be excluded entirely from the exchanges freeing up resources for those who need coverage with existing conditions due to no fault of their own.

A drunk, obese, smoker is a far different situation than a child born with lung, liver, heart problems even if the parents are those same drunk, obese smokers.

That's ridiculous. if we used your ideas about people and how they get their conditions, i guess you wouldnt want to cover pregnancy.
and illegal immigrant aren't allowed in exchanges.

I don't think there should be exchanges. Of course I also don't fall for 'it takes a village to raise a child'. WTF ever happened to individual responsibility. How about a smoker unable to afford insurance on his/her own quit smoking and not only lower their rates but have an extra 10 bucks a/day, 300 a month. Instead of requiring the rest of us to supplement his/her stinky arse?

And illegals shouldn't even be here hence 'illegal'.

not sure why even bring up illegals in these discussions, as they aren't germane to the topic.
they went to exchanges because single payer wouldn't fly, which is too bad. i think obamacare, like many govt efforts, is well-meant but won't be the great 'repair' they think it will. it's another example of good intentions that will go awry.

So I have been wondering if my behavior has led to problems that I have had.....I rode horses all the time as a kid, fell off and got banged up. Rode races as a teen ager and young adult and have had 2 knees surgeries and some skull fractures. Have a dislocated collar bone and well a bunch of other stuff because of my behavior.....Im 41 ooops 42 lol.....my **** is catching up with me because of my behavior, so I guess that should make me exempt from the pre-existing injury deal because I chose to ride horses.

I played sports and got to the point I need a partial shoulder replacement. Guess I'm frocked too.

yep, too bad honu. personal responsibility and all that....

i'd have to ask my mother how many times i came home bleeding because of various and sundry activities. guess my arthritis is my own fault.

shoulda known better at four not to ride that bike!

ran cross country thru junior high and high school. guess any knee replacement will have to be on my own dime.

Good news for California; the health care exchange rates are out and they are lower than expected. Doesn't mean they're cheap, but they are not what was being predicted:
