Was a fun day regardless; glad she came back okay. My toddler had a great time; he picked two winners and burst into tears when I said it was time to go. His grandmother has already promised to take him to Penn National on Saturday. And so it begins...

when they opened the gate and she broke so slowly, i thought uh-oh. too much to overcome at such a short distance.

Well at least she's got one under her belt now. Looking forward to her next start already.

OR came out of her race in good shape. She raced pretty greenly down the backside focusing far too much on the tents and noise they were making than running. Still not sure about next start yet though will most likely keep her in a turf sprint once again. We will do a little more gate schooling with her in between starts though she has always been pretty good in the mornings. She should improve off of this race and look for her to be more competitive next out especially if she breaks a little sharper.
