Not like he stunk up the place, ala Gemologist, whom some dope touted to an even higher degree on another board last year.

thank you. he ran hard, got beat fair and square. craziest thing is that on the NBC feed I was watching, I thought he was gonna win. Couldn't believe he didn't get up. When I watched the pan shot, it was a different story.
Am really glad for Mr Phipps and Shugga Dugga though. They've given so much over the years.

I wonder how the NFL would do if the star players said they needed to take the rest of the year off in the middle of the season..........probably about as well as horse racing is doing with its fan base.

Horse racing doesn't need fans, it needs bettors.
I would think that all they really want is lower take-out and full competitive fields, no matter what the levels are.

Eh, I'd argue we need people who are both fans AND bettors. If you just do one or the other, you're missing out on a pretty great experience.

I think that is asinine, why does NYRA have a higher handle than say Ellis Park where the fields are often similar in size and competitiveness with a lower takeout.

People care about the quality of the horses they bet on, socal still is second in wagering yet I would say is probably lower 1/3rd in competitiveness and amongst the leaders in track takeout.
