Just another scratch. I heard that Tiger isn't playing this week because he's afraid of Phil. I heard that big pappy isn't playing because he doesn't want to face todays pitcher. I heard that jeff Gordon isn't racing this week because he's afraid of jimmy Johnson. even in dog racing they don't scratch dogs because there's a good dog in the race. leave it to horse racing.

from a fans standpoint it was disappointing but i doubt anyone who knows anything about shug and the phipps' thinks he scratched because they were afraid to finish second.

dumb post.

also unhappy i didn't get to see them race, but i don't blame them at all for the decision.

and good for shug, and the owners-orb looked great.

I disagree. I obviously don't know the exact reason, but the horse has won before over off ground, and a G1 to boot (going 12 furlongs). Unless someone was wrong with him, there should have been no reason for the scratch

If the horse has shown to hate off ground, I would have completely understood and agreed, but this seems like they knew at 9 furlongs they were gonna get drilled by Wise Dan so took their ball and went home (and then won the Derby )

I agree they could have run and have had zero negative impact on the the horse value if he lost. I do recall listeninf to Shug say the horse perfers firm footing. Maybe Stronach called the shot but I doubt it. I think he thought the horse wouldnt run well??? I agree he should have run but I dont think it was the distance or Wise Dan. Shug thought Data Link had a real shot against Wise dan so I seriously doubt he was afraid to give PoE a shot.
