His review of Secretariat was not, but his response to the review of it on Salon was great. Wonderful writer. Here's a nice piece from one of the Deadspin writers- a few years old, still really moving:

Dead on about Pearl Harbor, couldn't wait for it to be over..Affleck at his worse (we called him Afflicted)
As Ebert says, Alec Baldwin and Cuba Gooding roles were the best..

Here's a story about 10 films he hated..The Village and Armageddon are the only ones i remember watching..
