Kiaran knows his horse better than I do, but I don't get Emcee running in the dirt Mile at all. If it was a one turn mile it would make a little more sense...but it isn't.

Seems has to do more with field size than anything. He said that he thinks he can get out quick and make a run however in the Sprint there are 14 horses and he doesnt want a outside spot

In other words if he could enter him in both then scratch after Post were drawn he would. However he can't so not taking chances

He would rather draw inside in the sprint? Why?

I just saw the quotes. He actually said drawing outside in the sprint would be good, but things have to go perfect to win.

Still makes no sense to me and honestly it's kind of a negative in my mind that he's THAT concerned with post positions. Your horse is either going to run well or he isn't. Being overly concerned about something like post positions, when you have a horse of his caliber seems odd.

I think he's the best sprinter in the country and he can win the Mile, but it won't be with my money. That might actually be a good thing for him though.

The Dirt Mile is almost always biased towards late runners. Emcee will find the pace scenario difficult.

I don't know if the trend towards closers winning will continue on Santa Anita dirt.

Isn't it more of a case of race dynamics than any kind of bias?

Yeah that is probably more true. It's hard to trust the speed horses if early speed types like Shackleford and Tapizar will pressure them every step of the way.
