![]() That was my view as well. He gets really combative on Twitter when people give him s.hit. He's really pathetic.

![]() Nothing says pathetic quite like Twitter.
It's where the twat meets the sh!tter. I have pretty low standards, but one thing even I will never do is start a twitter account. |

![]() You can pick up sluts and score boobies pics on Facebook.
Twitter is basically Internet text messaging...every page I've ever looked at makes the creator of said page look like a huge douche. |

![]() i don't do either one...don't get the attraction to telling/knowing minutiae. and the drama-i hear others talk about facebook, and wonder why they punish themselves.

![]() (Seriously, people on an internet board complaining about Facebook. The unintentional meta is sheer brilliance.) And yes, Drape is an idjit. But what do you expect from a paper that pays David Brooks and Ross Douthat to spew drivel on a regular basis?

In theory, people who come here should prefer substantive discussions and arguments about horse racing and other issues of the day. These forums should be places to go for important matters -- like to debate the merits of the top horses in training and to discuss and analyze past and future races. Facebook is where people should go for less important stuff like talking about jockeys, dishing out hyperbole about the greatness of Zenyatta, and calling Todd Pletcher a f@ggot. |

![]() sorry, i disagree. lady who works for me is constantly telling me about the latest uproar between family members on facebook...or a friend who tangled with the woman who works for the florist-she posted something snide on f/b-and a catfight will ensue. and yet, not once have i ever mentioned to her a thing about derby trail. no one in my family on it with me, i don't report every day the latest happenings at home, or at work. who here knows what my kids are up to right now? but on f/b, i would be expected to constantly update all that bs...i don't care what anyone's status might be. it's why i come here, to escape that tedium and engage in discussion, both light-hearted and otherwise...to talk about horses and issues, not about me or mine.

I can understand if you're doing twitter for purposes like BTW, Byk, Travis, Pat, and NTamm etc. If not, what's the point? If I wanted to read a bunch of short thoughts -- I'd buy Jack Handy. "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they’d never expect it." Now, that's brilliant. Basically, it all boils down to people believe they're interesting enough that they feel the need to update the world on their current doings... they aren't. Well, other than Randy Moss anyway. And Randy Moss basically dedicates his entire twitter existance to the two loves of his life ... fish and homeless people. If Moss has a digital camera handy, and he comes across either a fish or homeless person, it's a lock he's getting a picture and posting it on twitter to add to his numerous collection. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
