The NHL playoffs is basically when all of the fist fighting and scoring stops --- but all of the checking and diving in front of slap shots start.

Buffalo had the greatest goon line I've ever seen. Brad May, Rob Ray, and Matt Barnaby ... and Bob Boughner as a defenseman.

I think they had 4 of the top 10 players in fighting majors in one season.

What was really funny was before realignment/expansion it was the same format... They played an entire season just to determine who the 5 worst teams were.
