Report this afternoon: the family says that the tape they received from the police department does not have the "effing coons" comment on it. Now the question is, where did the tape with the second comment come from, and which is a copy of the real original? (is the coons comment real on the original and deleted by police, or is it a faked version someone in the public doctored to make it sound worse?)

Cool study, I would like to see the data and the control pictures. Police "need" to assume if you are reaching for or pointing something at them that it is a weapon and respond accordingly. The perpetrators in police shootings are generally told, loudly and repeatedly, to not move, moving especially in the direction of the police or toward an unknown object of any kind will typically get the response you would expect. Shoot the guy, firing back at someone means you might be already hit.
Cops here shoot a lot of people, probably because everyone has guns...

In fairness to the village manager, however, the statement he released is the Police Chief's words, in answer to press questions, not the village managers (VM was on a TV program last night and clarified that). So it is the Police Chief saying he couldn't do an arrest, not the village manager. Which makes it even more screwed.

Probably best to focus on George Zimmerman himself, not "races".

The tape has the,"the assholes always get away" comment, and the controversial (is it real? deleted by the PD? added later?) "f.u.c.k.ing coons" comment from Zimmerman, before he ever got out of the car and had physical contact with the kid he murdered.

All Zimmerman knew about the person he saw walking is that he thought he was black.
