I don't know what others think, but last night's episode of Luck, was, in my opinion, far and away the best of the series, and really catapulted the show into the full HBO standard quality we've come to expect. I was fine with it before, enjoyed it, great racing scenes, etc - but last night was the best, and should really hook viewers that might have been loose on the tether.

It was an o.k. episode. Predictable, yet o.k.

Now we have a show that is the Sopranos at the race track. Yawn. This is what happens when you are more concerned with style over substance. A big shiny production.

See on twitter that Jonn Ortiz (Escalante) -- who's hanging at Santa Anita now even when they aren't filming -- just bought in on a horse this morning.

My Steve Crist look-a-like who famously pronounced Dale Earnhardt dead to the world isn't gaining any board traction ... but I'm fully commited to spamming his pic everytime our great sport loses something or someone.

Steve Crist can be heard at 21 seconds in.

maybe the AHA and PETA should spend one day as a claims adjuster for equine insurance. Maybe they'd gain some perspective.

I wish the producers had balls, so because some PETA morons get mad they cave? I have horses that have reared up and flipped over, maybe I should quit my job. I guess there will no longer be any horse shows or movies, a horse might get hurt. This is so ridiculous, if any of those animal rights wackos REALLY knew horses, they would know they get injured in their stalls, in the pastures, in trailers and just plain walking down the road.

Viewership had decreased to 600,000 - It was a convenient way out of a mess, that's all.
