![]() I don't know how many of you (if any) play the place pick all on a regular basis, but today at Santa Anita, the lowest $1 place parlay paid about $132, the highest possible place parlay paid $2,482 but the $1 place pick all paid $21,435, or almost 160 times the lowest parlay. There is value to be found (albeit not to that extreme) on a regular basis in this generally ignored bet.

![]() I can remember being at the track one day and a friend of mine played the bet. It was an eight race card and he singled six races and took two horses in the other two races for a $4 ticket. In the races that he took two horses those selections ran first and second so he had the bet four times. It was a chalky day but I think his total came back around $2,500.
