Interesting thought..

but why comprimise the chance of their own horse.. especially one of GW's caliber.

Veering in at the start doesn't really compromise the chances of GW, or at least the effect it would have on GW pales in comparison to the amount of damage it could possibly do to Bernardini.

I've heard the explanation for running in the BCC rather than the BCM as being "Winning the BCM would not do as much for his stud value".. I believe that's partly true, but I feel like the other reason is to see if they can beat the supposedly invincible Darley horse.

All I'm saying is watch the break closely. I hope I'm wrong and no funny business goes on, but I'm leery.

It can potentially do damage to BOTH horses and could lead to possible injury. They arent going to try that with a horse as valuable as GW.

Joey, you would rather be next to G.W. than next to Brother D.,right? I remember B.D. knockin' Your Tent or Mine around really hard coming out of the gate at the start of the HWD Futurity.Haven't seen that horse since. Then again,I guess Brother could cause a chain rxn. deal.

I know what you should be concerned with.G.W. HAS NO SPEED,and you do.That means the horse to your right will soon be the 5 horse (Lawyer Ron-P.Val.) Now,I guarantee you that one will ride your horse just as much as Javy will.

I agree. I think it's pretty obvious that entering GW in the classic was a chance for Coolmore to try and beat the Sheik's, but I highly doubt they'd injure their own horse to do it.

I thought I heard GW was a bad gate break horse, shouldn't matter if that's the case...

BTW,does anybody know the story about what went on with Librettist in the QE2? That trip, and real obvious intentional bump coming into straightaway was no accident, and I remember Dettori was furious about it.

I may be wrong here but from what I recall they used their lesser value horse to do the dirty work to help their more valuable horse. I can't see them risking a horse like GW just to try and take out Bernardini.

Wow.. Who says GW gets injured? Every time I watch a break where one horse comes in on the other, the inside horse is ALWAYS the one worse for the wear. Always.
