http://www.oscars.org/press/pressrel...20111118a.html i don't think you even have to care about horses in particular to appreciate his story. they were his path to healing but it could have been a different path and the story would be just as remarkable. but with the exception of "man on wire" in 2008, documentary features that are stories of individuals don't generally do well. it's mainly stories of "social significance" (inside story, the cove, taxi to the dark side, an inconvenient truth, born into brothels, the fog of war, etc.) that make the final 5 and particularly get the win. i hope it gets a nomination just so a few more people will see the movie. but i'm not expecting it. |
