To me --- what truly cements his legend amongst legends status --- was his performance while he was suspended.

While Scooter was serving his Ketoprofen suspension for this wonderful juice job...





All of the horses he trained ran in the name of his at-the-time girlfriend Gina Stratton.

In true Scooter "the shooter" like fashion... he gets his girlfriend four bad tests and 3 seperate suspensions in a span of just five days. Three of the bad tests for the same drug (Ketoprofen) he was in the middle of serving a suspension for!

Oct 30th 2009: TRAINER GINA STRATTON IS HEREBY FINED THREE HUNDRED {$300.00) DOLLARS AFTER HAVING RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT THE HORSE CONQUISTADOR'S CAT WHICH FINISHED 1ST IN THE 9TH RACE ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2009 DID EXCEED THE PERMISSIVE LEVEL OF THE DRUG PHENYLBUTAZONE. THIS SAMPLE WAS QUANTITATED AND WAS FOUND TO CONTAIN 7. 69 MICROGRAMS PER MILLILITER OF PLASMA THIS IS HER FIRST OFFENSE.

Victory's Palace -- 1-for-43 lifetime -- and running for the first time in Gina Stratton/Davis's barn -- romped and won easy at 13/1 odds.

However, most noteworthy... is how the late Conquistador's Cat not only failed a test for Ketoprofen ... but ALSO had a bute overage in the same race. He must have been one extremely sore horse at the time!




Props to Scooter for being sharp enough to use the Rapid Redux situation to help get Robert Cole as an owner. The game really does need more guys like Scooter.

Apparently, Dick Jerardi thinks Robert Cole and Scooter Davis are victims. Of course, he did glorify Juan Carlos Guerrero, so why not?

It really looks like they're playing games with Scooter and Cole for claiming a cheap maiden off of a female trainer who won only a single race last year and may not have but a horse or two left to train.

My father liked to tell a story of when he first got into training and claimed a horse that had just ran 52 4/5 and won for 2k at Charles Town.

He said half the track was furious with him for claiming the horse because it was the guys last horse. He eventually blew up in the racing office and said 'why the fucl<s that assh@ole running him for $1,500 after he just won for 2,000? I don't know how many horses he has -- and I don't care either.'

It ended up being one of his best claims. He won a bunch of races with him.
