Good luck this weekend. Northern Passion has gotten a couple of works over the CD dirt since her Natalma win and comes in to this race with a similar pattern (10 days prior to the race). I've read she's doing fine over the dirt and Casse has done it before with Delightful Mary (finished 3rd w/o a prior dirt start).

Thanks for pointing that out. Was looking for some info and found this on Woodbine site

Norman Casse, assistant trainer for his father, Mark, has high hopes for his Grade 3 Grey Stakes champion, Prospective.

"He goes over the dirt so beautifully," said Norman Casse. "Ever since he got down here, he's really trained on the bridle."

The dark bay son of Malibu Moon-Spirited Away has shown ability on both the Polytrack and turf at Woodbine, and the assistant sees a striking similarity to how their Grade 1 Stephen Foster winner, Pool Play, trained in advance of a shock 36-1 score earlier this year at Churchill Downs.

"For the most part, he's a very professional race horse," said Casse. "This Malibu Moon colt trains just like Pool Play. He moves just like him and that's one of the things that's really encouraging us that he's going to run a good race on Saturday."

Prospective put in a mile and a half regular gallop on Thursday morning.

Stablemate Northern Passion, who captured the Grade 3 Natalma on the turf at Woodbine, will also try a new surface Friday when she contests the $2-million Juvenile Fillies over the main track.

Casse is impressed with how the filly has settled in at Churchill Downs.

"She's had two works over the track and worked well, finished strong," said Casse. "Dad believes that the dirt track here at Churchill Downs is a lot like Polytrack, and if you look at it historically, a lot of turf horses have run really well on the main here at Churchill. We're buying into that switchover. She's already won on two surfaces and breezes like she likes the dirt so we're not worried about that."

Both Casse trainees are owned by John C. Oxley.
