It’s a shame that on the day the MLK statue was unveiled the lead story on news stations here was coverage of the couple thousand camped out in a park singing woe is me.

The fact we have a sitting President and a leading candidate from the opposing party who are both African American and how far we've come since segregated fountains/schools etc. would have made for a great story. Sad that opportunity was missed. At least MLK must be looking down with a smile on his face.

It's sad people have a problem with protesting wall street and the government.

Sad many of those protesters don't realize or can't deal with the fact the sitting President has spent $100's of billions if not trillions bailing out Wall Street, well not all of Wall Street just the losers, under the guise supporting failure would produce jobs. Even going so far as saying SOME of Wall Street 'is too big to fail'

And move their protest to publicly owned land, say the White House lawn.

the last president bailed out the banks and wall street, just an FYI. Eventhough Congressman Obama and all the dems and republicans backed the idea.

Obama's stimulus was different, and in my opinion, worse.

and why do you think the protesters are liberal? A lot of what they protest is also similar to the tea party goals.

I think Bush's bailout was worse as it opened the door for Obama's. I don't think all the protesters are liberal but think the majority are and I certainly agree with them on several points, bailouts being one of them. Camping in a park isn’t going to change anything much less anything in Washington or on Wall Street. 99% of the rest of America, including me, not protesting but working doesn’t owe them a damn thing. They need to personally get involved in their chosen issue. If it be feeding the poor, join a soup kitchen. If it be healthcare for all, go to school and donate your services. If it be the free enterprise system, get involved in the socialist or communist parties. Live and let live. And if you can't deal with that pitch a tent in a national park and fire up a joint. Oops forget that last suggestion as there are government regulations against that.

Seriously? I can't believe you just said that. The WS bailout is the main thing OWS is all about. And you say "they don't realize"? Of course they realize. It's what they are protesting. It's why they are occupying.

Duh.

The OWS crowd is not "pro-Dem", or "pro-Obama". It is not tied to one political party.

Dell: I beg of you, watch a news show, read a newspaper. I have no idea where you get your "news", but it's obviously located under a very heavy rock. Please stop posting about things you are completely clueless about. It's sad to watch. Every single one of those OWS protesters know more about our government and what's happening in this country than you do.

For god's sake, those protesters have been protesting for a month now, protesting the Wall Street bailouts, and you come on here and say they are unawares of it?

Geeshus.

Seriously?

After yesterday, when protests over same were not only in 165 cities in America, but across the world, with riots in Europe?

That's exactly what they are doing.

God help this country. Coach is right.

How many registered republicans, like you are there protesting? You may just be part of the tenth of the one percenters and I'm so appreciative of that. BTW How's that Nazi and Communist parties joining the protest going? Heard Obama gave a shout out to them!

You are so clueless your right to vote should be taken away. It's not your opinions, you can hold any opinion you want, it's that you are entirely fact-free when you form them. You talk actual fantasy, made up nonsense. And you are proud of it.

Have you seen the flying unicorns of liberalism down there? Shame the protesters don't clean up after them, and our tax dollars have to! Obama sucks!

It's obvious you have a computer: try watching Al Jazeera English, or even reading Google news?

Geeshus, help this country.

Quinnipiac poll release today:
Quote:
By a 67 - 23 percent margin, New York City voters agree with the views of the Wall Street protesters and say 87 - 10 percent that it is "okay that they are protesting," according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Agreeing with the protesters views are Democrats 81 - 11 percent and independent voters 58 - 30 percent, while Republicans disagree 58 - 35 percent, the independent Quinnipiac University poll finds. Even Republicans, however, agree 73 - 23 percent with the protesters right to be there.

New York City voters say 72 - 24 percent, including 52 - 41 percent among Republicans, that if the protesters obey the law, they can stay as long as they wish.
Poor Mayor Bloomberg. That puts him on the opposite side of public opinion, having NYC policemen charge the protesters and tourists in Times Square with horses and push them over, step on them, this weekend.
