It's embarrassing, really.
Cardus... sorry but you're, respectfully, being a tad presumpteous here.

(I was gonna start this reply with whoa don't be a drama queen but figured you'd get mad).

You're acting like you know exactly who I was talking about.

Stay Thirsty has put in a few really good runs now but he is always overshadowed by something... it's like whatever he does it's not quite good enough.

There are probably more posts about him (sucking) in the Florida Derby (he was what, 7th?) and in THE Derby (12th) than his 2nd in the Belmont (and certainly in the Hopeful).

(For the record I did refrain from doing a nah nah na nah nah thread after Belmont. I'm a moron, I know).

He's not a world beater or anything but i was really so happy that he won here and remember him being called, well.... names... so why not?

Other 3 years olds are ****ing annointed all the time... he's just a pretty nice horse. What's the harm?

We don't always see eye to eye but hey i stil remember you talking about Mustard and hitting that huge score years ago with him and Dance the Waves. I may not always agree with you but I do respect you and if I were gonna call you in particular a hater i would do it directly and not in a vague way (cause you're a man and I think you could handle it).

(Unlike a few others here...)

I called Stay Thirsty a pig and I also made an ass of myself when Steve Haskin said he liked him on At the Races on Friday. Oh well, I'd do the same thing next time. I was wrong, it happens.

I could list the horses I was wrong about but would be here all day.

(I should probably apologize to Curlin right about now)...

We'd all be here for awhile. I don't mind being wrong about a horse as long as it's b/c they're better than I thought. Always frustrating when they're worse. Who doesn't want to see a great performance? I'm sure the preference is for it to come from horses you've bet on, of course.

Great post -- I can completely relate to it.

I enjoy seeing a horse outrun his reputation, show a totally unexpected turn of foot, or return to the winner's circle when most thought that he/she was past his/her prime. Even when I don't get to cash a ticket on them. If one is a fan of the equine athlete -- how could one not get a charge out of it?

Do you mean 3yos that have won two graded stakes AS 3yos? If so, yeah, that's a terribly short list.

Animal Kingdom and Stay Thirsty are the only two right off the top of my head.

I think in the entire crop (based in this country), only Mo has two g1 wins, period.

Indeed. He got a very good ride, better race strategy, and ran an awesome final 16th. I look forward to seeing him up close in November!

Spurrier had a very nice closing finish, too.

Steve Crist called him "a solid citizen" on the NYRA Talkng Horses show on Sunday.
