In my opinion - there are zero challenges facing racing that don't involve

A) High takeout

B) politicans not knowing what's best for the games growth

C) Pathetically stupid and worthless industry people - who somehow have a lot of say and power

D) Hopeless idiots who direct the racing at a lot of different racetracks throughout the country

E) Getting innovative with exchange wagering and not screwing it up

Other than that - horse racing has no challenges. Nothing else is standing in the way of it becoming more popular than the NFL and becoming an explosive form of gambling.

But yeah, other than that Mrs. Lincoln - how was the play?
add absurd tax laws and I think you have a decent list.

Boycott. I'm beginning to think it may be the only way.

You can't really think a boycott would work? It would leave too much value in the pools.

I would add jockeys with tiny brains to the list, but that's just me.

true...but no doubt there are crops that would smoke those horses.

the shame isn't the speed of the horses-it's the lack of racing by those top tier horses.
racing shouldn't concern itself with lasix, which isn't a big evil imo. encouraging more owners, cleaning up trainers, enticing more fans-those are some of the things the sport needs to address.

Don't forget way too many horrible betting contests where purse money is handed out.
