It's always easier to say that after the fact. The runner up didn't really look like he belonged after his last 2 either. Would you have excluded him also?

Why even run the race if we're going to start excluding horses based on Barry Irwin's opinion? I'm sure there were a lot of people who thought Animal Kingdom didn't belong in the Derby in April.

It was a cheap shot by Irwin because of who owned and trained the horse. Replace Saratoga Red for Isn't He Perfect, and I doubt Irwin would have made the same comment.
