Everything is Hollywood with him. It's beyond having fun. It's classless. Just play the f'n game already.
Whether he did it because it looked good or not, do you think that matters to the people that benefit from receiving it? As I said, I agreed that it was not the best way to handle it at all and he's admitted that if he had to do it over again, he'd do it different. But if that's the worst thing we have on a guy, how bad can he be?

I don't think that people understand what it's like to be a superstar athlete or entertainer in the world these days. At 13, he was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He was put on a pedastal by others. He didn't place himself on it. How do you learn grace and humility when people are catering to you at that age? I think it's easy to look from the outside and say a person should be like this or should act like that but the reality is that none of us knows what it's like to be in those kinds of positions or how we would react if we were.

His antics on the court don't seem out of line with what anyone else is doing these days. It's not the 1980's or 1990's anymore. Personally, I feel like a lot of the stuff is over the top.....the screaming and pounding your chest after a big dunk or block, the holding up three fingers after a long shot, etc. I didn't do that stuff and I don't care for it now. But LeBron is hardly the only guy doing this stuff. It's just part of this generation of players. The older guys did it in different ways. Jordan and Bird are legendary for talking a ton of trash on the court.

Overall, I just don't see a bad guy. I see a guy that's well liked by his teammates and well respected among his peers. Listen to any interview and he's respectful of his opponents and he doesn't get in trouble. The biggest negative people seem to be able to come up with is that he's having too much fun.

The closest comps I can come to for LeBron James are Lady Gaga and Sarah Palin. They're sort of the three stooges of the modern entertainment industry. they're all sort of rich, very me-me centered and know how to maximize profit. (of the 3, Gaga is by far the most intelligent and down to earth!)

This is BS. There is a fine line between having fun and acting like a jackass. He acts like a jackass.

Not everyone acts like a jackass. Dirk might hold up 3 fingers or whatever, but he isn't banging his chest and screaming everytime he makes a play. Durant isn't either. Derrick Rose doesn't.

But you know who has perfected it? The Heatles.

But there are plenty of players who do those things. He's not the only one. I remember back some years ago when a Terrell Owens scored a touchdown in Dallas and went to the star in the middle of the field to celebrate. People went crazy. I know a lot of people are turned off by Chad Ochocinco's td celebrations. My thing has always been if you don't want them to celebrate, don't let them score. The best way to stop James from doing the things you don't like seeing him do is to stop him from making the plays or winning. To each his own though. He's a very polarizing figure. If I were playing, I'd love to play with him. If I were an owner, I'd love to have him on my team. If I'm a fan in any city, I'd love it if he were on my team because he instantly makes my team better.

So because he isn't the only one acting like an idiot, it's okay? That's essentially what you are saying. How about wanting the great players to act like it? Is that a lot to ask?

Give me a guy like Durant over him anyday. A team first guy who isn't impressed by himself when he dunks a ball.

I get it, but do you really think LeBron at age 18 wrote or directed that commercial? LeBron's simply the actor in this spot and in life in general. If he wrote this at age 18, he's smarter than I give him credit for, by a lot.

He gave the green light.

Look his mother is a drug addict and a whore. It's still no excuse.

That's not essentially what I'm saying. I'm saying that I don't think it's acting like an idiot. It's not a big deal to me. I don't like it but I also don't like rap music but the majority of the guys in the league do. I just chalk it up to a different generation.

You can take Durant if you want to. Nothing wrong with that. You can take Rose or Duncan if you want to. Everyone has their preferences. I want the best player. By the way, did you see Durant's reaction when he destroyed Brendan Haywood with that dunk in the last series?

Yeah, great comparison.

He gets up like that because he objected to the way Haywood pushed him while he was in mid air. He's not showing anyone up. He's not banging his chest...he's not screaming.

He knows he's good and doesn't need everyone else to know it also.

This is really pointless. You don't like the guy. That's your right. There's no need for me to try to make an argument to get you to like a guy or for you to tell me why I shouldn't when neither of us know him and whether we like him or not is irrelevant. Either way, he's still the best player in the world.

and that's exactly what Dallas finally did. for the first time all series they decided to play suffocating defense the last 7 minutes of game 2. It was incredible. the open 3 by Chalmers was the only field goal they made the last 7 minutes. that was a display by Dallas.
