I always found the oompa loompas to be admirable. I think you do THEM a disservice by in any way associating them with jockeys.

I can't find the supposed " personal attacks ".

I mean, obviously paisjpq is jealous of Chantal, but otherwise I think Mike hit it on the head. I must be jealous of Mike Smith.

I think one of the real problems comes when people can't distinguish between remarks, critiques, or comments made about someone in their professional work capacity, not as a person.
I know a lotta folks in this business who are very talented or successful at what they do who I would not call "nice people". But I respect and admire their talents and the JOB they do.
The inverse of that would be someone who is a nice person, but stinks at what they do.
I really don't see where how nice a guy or gal is has any bearing at all on talking about the job that person does. I just don't get it.

I watch every race every day, and she stinks. Plain and simple.
She might be a very nice person, a real gem, but we are talking about her riding ability right now and she stinks in that department. I still don't hear any argument to that.

Hardly jealous here. Just been around long enough to see her kind at the track. If she was an ugly hag, she'd be riding at Beulah Park. Looks can get you far in this game.

And honestly, all I can say is more power to the girl. If she's smart and saving her money, she'll be able to retire early.

But her riding talent is not the reason she's riding in NY.

The girl came close to getting herself killed. I didn't see the race, but I am assuming the horse she was on broke down. Maybe Honu can explain, because I don't understand why some jocks think it's safer off the back of a horse you can take the chance of getting pulled up, to being on the ground dodging flailing hooves.

Personally, I would take the chance of pulling up the broke down horse. Jocks are going to see you standing in the irons and steer clear. Jumping off, you're asking to get trampled.
