I am new to the game though so if I come across as ignorant on what I am about to say please know that it's not meant to offend the sport.

This story is absolutely disgusting! This horse should never have wound up in a kill pen! No horse should in my opinion!

Last night I read this article and it just about ruined my entire day! I am glad this horse found a place to live out the rest of his days. I am glad that he is being showered with affection and love!

But this is not right! Horse racing is constantly asking what do we need to change? Is it drugs that need to be changed? Should the Triple Crown be extended so that a horse has a better chance of winning? Should we race less days during the week? Do we need to form a governing body, etc. I don't know what the sport needs to do. But for the love of God this has to stop! You wouldn't treat a family dog this way! I am not trying to be sentimental because I know it's a business but come on! Racing slaughter needs to stop! Horses deserve better than this and I hope more than anything that race horses are no longer slaughtered in the U.S. Like that commercial says "we must take care of our own!"

I know that this sport is full of great people and this does not reflect the entire industry. The fact that this horse was just tossed aside is awful. Just awful.
We need more people like you, with your sensibilities, in the game.
