In a word, no, especially when compared to other sports.

 Jockeys are left to learn life skills on their own.

Yes there is and I think they now also have some sort of mandate that you have to stay in school.
Sometimes no matter what you cant save someone, and none of us can speculate as to how MC got to the place where his head was.
