Default Bill Gallo passes

The great Daily News cartoonist passed away today. To any sports fan growing up in NY he was a part of your life. He was a WWII vet and a real man of the people. He will be greatly missed. KP

I have enjoyed his cartoons for years. My favorite was when he poked fun at Steinbrenner.
You are right KP, he will definitely be missed.

Gallo was an old fashioned pleasure in the paper. He had close ties to racing too. His son Bill Jr. heads the National Steeplechase Association, and of course his son Greg was a long time handicapper for the Post before rising to the editorial ranks.
