Thanks! I didn't know about the ESPN Classic shows.

Versus is also showing Kentucky Derby Classics (I don't know what years) on Wed 5/4, Thu 5/5 & Fri 5/6 at 4pm EST. And of course, there's the Oaks on 5/6 at 5pm EST.

ETA: Just saw this on the ESPN Classic listings:

May 1: SportsCentury: Secretariat, 8:00 PM

ETAA: Also, the Ruffian movie at 10PM.

Ouch. So true. And Versus, for that matter.

I took my first post out of the printed edition of Blood-Horse (April 23). But what you wrote made me do an online search, which provided me with this

which is way better.

The SportsCentury shows, especially the one on Secretariat, are fantastic. Time to clear my DVR's memory - I'm going to be recording a lot of programs.

the SportsCentury on Secretariat is my absolute favorite. Anyone who hasn't seen it, should really make an effort to watch.

I've been having major digital cable issues over the last few months. They can't figure out what's going on with certain channels so we're thinking about getting a dish. On the plus side, I now get Versus. Still have no idea what it is other than it belongs to NBC and will show the Oaks.

We may or may not get ESPN Classic again. They tweaked a couple things and suddenly we got Versus, the Science Channel, and the Golf Channel. I've taped a lot of the stuff they're showing like the Secretariat ep, but I think I got those on VHS back in the day. I'd like 'em on dvd. Really great shows to get you in the Derby mood.

Gotta have Science Channel, my kids love "Monster Bug Wars".

It's a great channel for any hockey fan and the very few bike racing fans in america. they cover both the tour of california and tour de france.

and, of course, whatever horse racing nbc doesn't want to show on it's flagship.

On the lighter side, Turner Classic Movies has a "Playing The Ponies" lineup of horsey movies coming up

http://www.tcm.com/this-month/articl...esdays-in-May/

I'll pass on many of them, but there are a few classics to see for the nth time.
